Our Savior's Lutheran thrives because of the energy and style of the people who are a part of our leadership. Here are a few of the people that make our church community special:
Kyle leads our modern worship services. Some of his songs can be viewed on YouTube:
Jan is instrumental in leading worship at our classic and children's worship services.
I've been a "church guy" all my life, 30 of those years at Our Savior's. I've been involved in various capacities through the years but my current role is the one I feel most passionate about. God has called me to encourage people and help them understand how knowing Jesus can make a difference in their lives and bring them great joy. Our Outreach ministry focuses on being a church "beyond the walls." Look at the various sections of the website to see how we are doing this. And check out my Outreach - Friday Thoughts blog where I give you my take on how churches are doing a good (or bad) job of reaching out to others. I also discuss upcoming activities and events. .
My family and I have been a part of the OSLC community for about 5 years now. We located to Jefferson City in January of 2006 when Jim took a job with Ameren. I grew up in an ELCA Lutheran church and have always tried to help in the church with various ministries. As a young person I helped mostly in the Sunday School realm and singing in the choir. My husband and I led the youth group with their ministries for about 2 years in Golden IL. I would say that although I always believed in God and Jesus I did not actively start my faith journey until I became a stay-at-home mom 5 years ago. That is when my prayer life and Bible reading really started to be part of my daily routine. I look forward to helping the church move toward their goals and show others about the love and grace of God. Check out my Administration - What's New page to see where your energy and talents can be used to help this ministry.
My faith was nurtured during my early life in northwestern Illinois attending a small rural Lutheran Church where my parents taught Sunday school, sang in the choir and served in may other capacities. After college and a twenty-five year career in the Army Medical Specialist Corps as a Registered Dietitian in military hospitals, I have worked for the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services since 1996. I joined Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in October of 2002 when I moved to Jefferson City from Rolla, Missouri. My faith has developed and deepened through my involvement in a variety of ministries. It is with both humility and excitement that I am now serving as the Director of Discipleship.
